The Basic Workshop in Core Shamanism
June 8th and 9th 2024
Windsor, Ontario
During this Basic experiential workshop, participants are introduced to Core Shamanism, the universal and near-universal basic methods used by shamans to enter non-ordinary reality for problem solving and healing. Particular emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey. The shamanic journey is one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream.
Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature. Practice includes comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. Participants are also provided with methods for journeying so they can meet and study with their own individual spirit helpers in non-ordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice.
Participants learn how the journey is utilized to restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal oneself, others, and the Planet.
This workshop is 14 hours of in-person training offered over the Saturday and Sunday. 10:00am to 5:00pm each day.
Completion of this Basic Workshop with an authorized Foundation Faculty Member qualifies participants to take the advanced FSS workshops and courses.
Workshop Registration and policies:
The in-person workshop registration fee is $295.00 HST inc. There is an early bird registration fee of $260.00 HST inc. if received up to three weeks before the date of the workshop. Payment can be made through e-transfer to bo*@sh*****************.com or through PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account.
Refund policy:
A full refund is given up to 14 days before the workshop, after 14 days your fee will be held over and put towards a future workshop
What To Bring
Shamanic Healing Path
I have received your registration fee for the upcoming workshop, The Way of The Shaman, being held in Windsor on June 8th and June 9th, 2024. This completes your registration. Welcome aboard!
Location: This workshop will be held at the Holiday Inn & Suites Windsor Ambassador Bridge, 1855 Huron Church Rd. Windsor, ON N9C 2L6. With easy access from Highway 401 and all major routes.
Time: Please plan to arrive by 9:45 am on Saturday and Sunday so we can all settle in and be comfortably ready for the 10:00 am start. We will finish by 5:00 pm.
What to Bring: You will need a blanket to lie on and to cover yourself with, (sleeping bags and yoga mats work well!) a pillow or cushion, a bandanna to cover your eyes, and a notebook and pen to record your journeys and other work. Please bring a drum and/or rattle. For this workshop you also need to bring a rough-surfaced, grapefruit-sized rock. Please also wear comfortable clothes and warm socks (we will have our shoes off).
Please avoid alcohol and other mind-altering substances for 24 hours before the workshop and during the workshop weekend, as they may interfere with your experience of shamanic journeying.
Lunch: You are welcome to bring a bag lunch and enjoy it in the meeting room. There is a restaurant in the hotel and also several restaurants, coffee shops and fast-food outlets nearby along Huron Church Road.
Accommodation: The Holiday Inn and Suites Ambassador Bridge is pleased to welcome workshop participants. There is a discounted rate offered by the hotel, please ask for The Way of the Shaman room block and the group booking code is SH9. Holiday Inn & Suites Windsor Ambassador Bridge.
Parking: Free Parking is available at the Hotel, conveniently located at the front and sides of the building.
